As a federally qualified health center, our mission is to provide high quality, accessible, and sustainable primary and preventive health services to everyone in the Kodiak Island Borough. This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).

Kodiak Community Health Center began operations in January 2004 and has grown rapidly in response to the high level of community need and positive response the exceptional care we provide our patients. We offer health care services to everyone in our community – insured, uninsured and underinsured.

Our comprehensive, state-of-the-art health center is staffed with five MD’s and Physician Assistants as well as a full staff of experienced and caring Medical Assistants.  We are open seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays, with available appointments in the evenings and same day appointments for sick visits. Easy access and convenience are the foundation of our health center - we are located adjacent to the hospital which ensures that most services for our patients can be completed the same day.

Our center and health care professionals strive to provide high-quality, affordable health care to our entire community by offering a full range of primary and preventative health services.  We also provide referral arrangements such as mental health treatment and counseling, substance abuse service, specialty care, and hospitalizations.

Kodiak Community Health Center is proud to also offer enabling services not found in traditional medical practices such as the Sliding Fee Discount Program based on family size and income level for the uninsured and those with a limited income, translators (Spanish and Tagalog on-site), and comprehensive case management services.
