Position description:

Functions as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team in providing care to health center patients. Performs direct patient care activities within the scope of practice of a medical assistant or certified nursing assistant.

Essential Job Qualifications:

1. Education:  Must be a high school graduate.  Formal training in a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant or allied health program is preferred.  Training may be available.  Current CPR certification is required.
2. Experience:  Previous medical office experience is desirable; phlebotomy experience preferred.
3. Licensure/Certification:  N/A
4. Other Qualifications:   Effective communication skills, written and verbal, and customer service skills are required. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to function cooperatively as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
5. Attendance:  Regular attendance is a requirement of this position. Occasional evening (until 8:00pm) and occasional weekend (Saturday) will be required.
6. Language:  Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Bilingual preferred (Tagalog or Spanish).
