Insurance & Discount Programs
We bill all insurance plans and are an in-network provider/PPO for many plans (see the list below). If you don’t have insurance, no need to worry—we can help! No one will be denied services based on inability to pay.
There are millions of Americans without health insurance or are under-insured for a variety of reasons. As a partially federally-funded health center, we may be able to help you receive low-cost primary health care. We offer health services for the entire community through a Sliding Fee Discount Program. We also offer annual well woman exams and mammography through our Breast and Cervical Program, and treat fishermen injuries through Fishermen’s Fund. Some prescription medications are also available on-site at greatly reduced costs.

Sliding Fee Discount Program
At KCHC everyone has the right to complete an application for the Sliding Fee Discount Program. Upon completion of the application, KCHC determines the level of the sliding fee discount qualified based on household size and gross income as per federal guidelines. Written proof of ALL HOUSEHOLD income is to be attached to the application form for members over the age of 18. Alaska’s Breast & Cervical Health Check (BCHC) Program
Alaska’s BCHC Program provides breast and cervical health screening services to women who meet certain income guidelines, do not have insurance, cannot meet their insurance deductible, or whose insurance doesn’t pay for breast and cervical health screening services. BCHC pays for clinical breast exams, pelvic exams, Pap tests and screening and diagnostic mammograms appropriate for a women’s age and medical history.
BCHC can pay for approved screening exams. If any exam results are abnormal, BCHC may also pay for approved diagnostic tests to rule out problems, including cancer.
BCHC does not cover birth control, general blood work, or diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections or diseases. For a full list of services covered please visit the website listed below.
If a patient is screened and diagnosed with cancer or a pre-cancerous condition through the BCHC program, the patient may be eligible for treatment paid for by Medicaid. BCHC will assist with the referral process to Medicaid.
